Saturday October 25th 2014 Arvada Beer Company 3 Year Anniversary
Cary and Kelly Floyd co hosted with Turk from Arvada Beer Company as we wrap up October and 3 years of beers! They had some barrel aged and new malty high ABV monsters on tap. Can’t thank these folks enough for their support through the years. We also did Brew News You Can Use for the week. Guests included Mason Embree from Dad & Dude’s Breweria in Aurora and Arvada Beer’s biggest fan Clint White. Dad & Dude’s is now canning three different brews for your drinking pleasure. They also have their 3rd year anniversary coming up next week.
Saturday November 1 2014 Colorado Keg House
Man were we lucky to broadcast from The Colorado Keg House smack dab in the middle of a Widespread Panic run at First Bank Center. Todd Thibault from Breckenridge Brewery made the trip up to co host. We spent hour one with Jerod Hutchison who along with Jason Wiley own and operate the CO Keg House. They are at 8001 Arista Place in Broomfield just a few yards away from the First Bank Center. They carry 75 taps of nuthin’ but Colorado beers and they really go out of their way to support the smaller guys in the state. The tap list is always changing so you never know what you’ll get but if you can’t find something in the 75 taps, there may be no help for you. We also talked to Michael Memsic and Drew Owen from Sanitas Brewing in Boulder. They are doing some very cool stuff and putting some of them in cans. Again big thanks to the CO Keg House crew. You need to step in and see what they have to offer to the ever growing craft beer scene.

Tebo from Breckenridge Brewery and Turk hosted in studio today and talked about beer and chocolate and food pairing. In hour one we had in chocolatier Sarah Amorese from Piece, Love & Chocolate and Dr. Nicole Garneau who is the Director of the Genetics of Taste Lab at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. They have a big event coming up on December 10th at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science that incorporates beer and chocolate pairings and some very cool science about how it works. Sarah is also throwing an event at West Flanders Brewing in Aurora on November 13th. Tickets to both events can be found HERE. This was very educational and cool at the same time! In hour two, Mike Long from Chef N Brew Festival and Culinary Director at Argyll Whiskey Beer John Broening jumped in to talk about the 3rd year of Chef N Brew which is coming up on Thursday November 20th at the Exdo Events Center in RiNo. It’s really amazing to hear chefs talk about how they come up with dishes to pair with craft beer. In Hour One we led off talking about all the amazing beers they released this week to celebrate one year in business. The Gub also called in as he was traveling between Columbus and Cleveland to launch Oskar Blues. We also talked to Breckenridge Brewery‘s Todd Thibault live from the Gorilla Run. Breck is launching their Christmas Ale in mini kegs and have a couple upcoming events you should check out. Also a ton of brew news this hour!
In Hour Two we led off talking to David Parry from Parry’s Pizzeria & Bar in Parker, Highlands Ranch and Castle Rock. Parry’s has 90 taps now and will be adding 50 more in Greenwood Village soon. They had a fundraiser going on to help family friend Zoe beat Cancer. They also have a ton of events coming up we filled you in on! We then talked to Joe Kempsel who was Arvada Beer’s 100,000th customer and in doing so gets a growler of every different beer they make this year and gets to brew with them. Joe wants to do a sour with Kelly and will be working on that soon. We then talked with Michael Long who is the Host Chef of the upcoming Chef N Brew Festival on November 15th at the Oriental Theater. He had a pair of tickets to give away and will do again next week. This is a really sweet beer and food pairing festival that will pit 13 of Denver’s best chefs against eachother trying to make the perfect pairing with one of the beers provided from the 13 different breweries. We then closed out the show with Kelly Floyd and head brewer Dennis O’Harrow. They talked about their upcoming Beer Dinner in Golden at the Bridgewater Grill on Wednesday November 7th. We also talked about their brew classes and two different Christmas Ales they will be releasing. Also a ton of events and brew news passed along this hour.
